Diana Shannon-Young is an esteemed artist, art consultant, and art Dealer residing in Riverside, California.  Her work has garnered her much recognition and accolades. Young’s signature works consist of the contrast use of heavy texture to strike a balance between the familiar and the abstract.  She enjoys working mainly in pastel and acrylic on paper or acrylic on canvas with some collage.  Also signature to Young’s work is that most figures are void of the eye and nose features thus challenging the perceptive viewer to determine the subjects personality by their posture, position, expressive mouth, tilt of the head, and animated movement.

Shannon-Young’s academic training including fine art printmaking.  Primarily self directed, she sold her first painting over 30 years ago.

Shannon-Young’s resume includes having owned several galleries.  She is currently working in her personal studio and her work is featured in countless galleries worldwide.

Commissions for Shannon-Young’s work include the official poster for the 2004 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Legislative weekend (Every Vote Counts), The Journal of the National Medical Association, and Ebony Magazine.

Annually, Shannon-Young’s art is featured at the prestigious National Black Fine Arts Show held at the Puck Building in New York City and the Artjaz Gallery of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Museum exhibitions include a one woman show at the Museum of African-American Art in Los Angeles, California and group exhibitions with other notable artists including Jacob Lawrence, Elizabeth Catlett, Charles Bibbs, Romare Bearden, and others on display at the Riverside Metropolitan Art Museum in Riverside, California.

Currently she has several paintings featured in Colors to Life Beautiful, an exhibition that runs simultaneously with The Color Purple, stage play at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.

Diana Shannon-Young’s works are exhibited and sold at 626 Gallery located in downtown Los Angeles.  Her work continues to be in high demand by corporations, professionals, celebrities, and serious art buyers from around the world.
