ABOUT THE FILM

A family drama set on the West side of Chicago , OF BOYS AND MEN is produced by and stars Robert Townsend (The Five Heartbeats, Meteor Man), Angela Bassett (What's Love Got To Do With It), Victoria Rowell (ABC's One Life To Live) and newcomer Dante Boens.

Family man, Holden Cole (Townsend), loses his wife (Bassett) in a fatal accident, and with the help of his younger sister (Rowell), has to lead his three children on a journey of healing and self-discovery, while battling his own demons of pain and regret. The story is seen through the eyes of the youngest son (Boens), who discovers through the loss of his mother what it means to be a man.

OF BOYS AND MEN is written by Chicago native, Michelle Amor and produced by Robert Townsend and Pemon Rami. Carl Seaton (One Week) directs.  It also stars Faizon Love (Idlewild, Who's Your Caddy?), Vince Green (Save the Last Dance, MTV's Punk'd), and Bobb'e J. Thompson (Idlewild, Disney's That's So Raven).  The supporting cast includes Chicago actors Scott Baity, Sharde Cole, Yahaira Tarr, Cynthia McWilliams, Brian Smith and Kevin Kelly. The film is executive produced by the mother/daughter team, Shebeta Carter and Maisha R. Parsons of The Anointed Harvesters.
